Pastoral Prayer for Congregation & Members

Father I thank you for deeming me a faithful steward that I would be made an overseer of your great people.  Thank you for giving me the Holy Spirit to take care, be on guard, feed and guide these your precious saints whom our Lord Jesus has purchased in His own blood (Acts 20:28; Jeremiah 3:15).  I pray that my ministry and service to these precious saints would always be in love and in purity of heart.  Empower me to teach and preach in love and the spirit of wisdom even as you have taught me (Philippians 1:9; II Chronicles 1:10).

And now Lord I decree over your great people that:

  • Their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and love toward all the saints shall always abound (Ephesians 1:15).

  • They have the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you (Ephesians 1:17).

  • The eyes of their understanding is enlightened to know the hope of what you have called them, the riches of your glorious inheritance within them, and the exceeding greatness of your power towards them (Ephesians 1:18-19).

  • They are the proof of excellence, and shall approve all that is excellent.

  • Their hearts are sincere and without offense until the day of our Lord’s return (Philippians 1:10).

  • Their lives are filled with fruits of righteousness and everything they put their hands to is blessed (Philippians 1:11; Deuteronomy 28:12).

  • Favor surrounds them as a shield and no weapon formed against them shall ever prosper (Psalm 5:12; Isaiah 54:17).

  • Wealth and riches are in their houses.  They are lenders and never again borrowers.  They shall lack no good thing (Psalm 112; Deuteronomy 28:12;

Psalm 23).

  • They are healed from the crown of their head to the soles of their feet.  With long life you will satisfy them and show them your saving power (Psalms 91).

And now Lord, behold your sons and daughters!

For such a time as this, you put your precious son, Jesus on the cross that these may be returned unto Thee to love you, worship you and fulfill your good pleasure.

Now Father I ask that you:

        –    Love them with your abundant love.

        –    Keep them from the evil one

        –    Provide for them their every need, for these are the people of your pasture

       –    Sanctify them through your truth:  Thy Word is truth.

       –    Suspend death until that which you have ordained for their lives is fulfilled in the earth (John 17;  Psalm 95:7).

Thank you for doing exceeding, abundantly above in them than what I have asked or

even thought.   I now charge the angels of the Lord, which excel with strength to

hearken and fulfill all that was spoken today.  In Jesus’ name!
