Article 3: “Enduring Faith”

Hello Saints! I have another encouraging revelation from the Lord that I would like to share with you. It’s entitled, “Enduring Faith”.  Perhaps this season has been difficult for you. And at times it appears that Satan’s desires may be winning over your life. But despite the difficult days, be encouraged! If you continue to stand in faith, your promise of victory will manifest!

The scripture for these truths are found in Luke 22:31-32: “31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.”

Let’s look at Satan’s processes. First, what does it mean that Satan desires to sift us like wheat? To explain, the sifting process is two-fold. The first involves threshing. Threshing is the spreading of wheat on the floor and then beating it with an old tool called a flail. Perhaps your season has been like mine where you felt as if the enemy was spreading you thin and beating you to the ground? Perhaps you felt like you were at your wits end with nothing else to give? I know I did. And if you felt that way, that was the threshing of the enemy.

The second part of Satan’s process is called winnowing. Winnowing happens by throwing the grain into the air, so that the lighter chaff blows off. Afterwards, only the good stuff falls back down to the ground. What does that mean to us? Basically it means that Satan wants to beat us so bad to the ground that we eventually give up and blow off into the wind, forgetting God.

But that’s not the spirit God has given you! In fact, the encouraging words from our Lord are found in the next verse 32, “But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.”

There are three promises I want to discuss here:

1. We Have Jesus’ Faith

No matter what you are facing the Lord Jesus saw this day coming and has prayed for you, beseeching the Father on your behalf! And His prayer inserts His power and His ability where our power and ability would’ve fallen short. And where did He insert His strength?

In our faith! He spoke to it over 2000 years ago, “faith don’t fail!” And the word of God does not return void, giving us “Jesus’ Faith”.  “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

For those who would receive this, Jesus’ prayer has given us, “enduring faith”, a faith that cannot fail, cannot give up, and is destined to outlast every assault of the enemy. Because it is His word that is upholding our faith, making it greater that any attack against you, stronger than any spiritual warfare and demonic activity assigned against our life.

2. There is an “End Date” to this Sifting

It’s no secret that the devil wants to destroy our life and make it one of his trophies. But notice in verse 32, it didn’t say, “if” you are converted, but “when!” That tells me there’s an assigned “end date” to our sifting process. So it may be uncomfortable right now, but with your enduring   faith, endure the process because what was meant to be destructive and defeating for our life, Jesus is turning to work for our faith’s good. How so? Because the sifting process will shake out the bad from your life so that you would return as “real wheat” in the Master’s house!

3. End results will benefits us and others

You may feel as if you are going through trials alone (but you are not because Jesus is with you).  But the weight of that trial cannot be compared to the end substance and fruit of righteousness that will not only bless you, but other people’s life as well. This is why Jesus said, “…and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.” The weight of the glory of victory over the devil is too great to receive alone! Others will not only be strengthened by our testimony, but will also be strengthened by our substance. And the word of God that we applied to our life and situation will also work for anyone who applies it!

So be encouraged today!

Know that even though you may be going through a hard time…in the end, you will pass your  test because you have:

1. Jesus Faith

2. An assigned “End Date” to the sifting

3. And end results that will benefits you and others
